Report of Press Conference(2018-08-01)

SPACE WALKER Co., Ltd. announced today at a press conference that it has signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with IHI Corporation, IHI Aerospace Co., Ltd., and Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. regarding support and cooperation in the development of a spaceplane that will be Japan’s first manned space flight, a joint research agreement with Kyushu Institute of Technology, and a collaboration memorandum (business concept co-creation) with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).

More than 100 members of the press and other related parties gathered at the press conference, where co-founder Yonemoto, CEO Oyama, and COO Manabe explained the company’s development plans. Based on the philosophy of “aiming for a future where anyone can easily travel to space,” the plan is to first develop a spaceplane made in Japan, and then launch small satellites and aim for manned space transportation. We will do our best to be a bright hope for Japan after 2020. We appreciate your continued support.
