SPACE WALKER and Realize Corporation conclude a Capital and Business Alliance Agreement
[TOKYO, JAPAN, Dec 06, 2022] A new capital and business alliance will enable development of a fresh business model and other upgrowth in support of Rocket Fund™ and other future space transportation services.
On November 30th 2022, SPACE WALKER Inc. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Co-Founder CEO: Akihide Manabe; hereinafter referred as “SPACE WALKER”) and Realize Corporation (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yosuke Imafuku; hereinafter referred as “Realize Corporation”) , a company operating unique and innovative financial services including the Truck Fund™, concluded a new capital and business alliance (hereinafter referred as the “Alliance”) to develop a fresh business model and foster other upgrowth to support future space transportation initiatives, such as the Rocket Fund™.
SPACE WALKER is a university startup conducting research and development of winged reusable suborbital and orbital spaceplanes as well as the development and sales of composite tanks, utilizing space technology for both space and terrestrial industries. SPACE WALKER envisions sustainable commercial space transportation for all, as familiar as commercial air travel today.
■Purpose of the Alliance
Through this Alliance, SPACE WALKER, which is developing reusable and clean-fuelled spaceplanes and recently launched ECO ROCKET project (*1), together with Realize Corporation, which provides innovative financial services to the transport and logistics industry, will build a new business model, the Rocket Fund. The new business model capitalizes on the strengths of spaceplanes, a mobility connecting space and earth, among other initiatives which show potential to contribute to the business development of both parties.
■Next Steps
One of the first steps to materialize the ECO ROCKET project is to research and survey topics on technical issues and legislation with a view to launch the Rocket Fund, using reusable rockets as assets. The development of the Rocket Fund will be based on concepts originating from the Truck Fund (*2) conceived and operated by Realize Corporation. Other initiatives that show potential to contribute to the business development of both companies will also be studied.
